Sono stati mesi di costruzione di solide basi e di grande programmazione quelli che hanno interessato il settore tennis della SSD UniMe in questa prima parte della stagione sportiva. E il lavoro realizzato in questi mesi autunnali dal Coordinatore del Settore, Fabio Branca, di concerto con la Governance della SSD UniMe hanno già condotto a risultati più che soddisfacenti, pienamente in linea con gli obiettivi della società sportiva universitaria orientati a porre le basi per una ripartenza di assoluto livello, sia per quanto riguarda la scuola tennis che per l’attività dedicata agli studenti UniMe, fino ad arrivare al completo funzionamento dello stesso Impianto tennistico all’interno della Cittadella Universitaria, che piano piano sta tornando ad essere inquadrato nei radar del movimento federale, tanto locale quanto regionale e nazionale.
Il primo passo importante è stato quello di strutturare uno staff di assoluto livello, puntando su un mix di figure giovani ed esperte, quali Martine Bellè, tecnico di assoluto livello che collabora con l’Accademia Tennis di Reggio Calabria, Raffaele D’Ambrogio, tecnico con tantissimi anni di esperienza alle spalle, ed il giovane Amedeo Urso, ai quali si affiancano i preparatori Massimo Amara e Sergio Santapaola. Un’equipe completa e capace di dare grande slancio al settore. Da questo momento in poi è stato un autunno di duro lavoro e di programmazione concreta, con i risultati che non sono tardati ad arrivare: grande movimento dal punto di vista studentesco ed un avvio di attività della scuola tennis che ad oggi rappresenta circa il 20% del movimento tennistico della SSD UniMe, attorno al quale orbitano circa 80 iscritti, ma che ha già in programma nuove iniziative per aumentare il numero di iscritti, già comunque soddisfacente per questo primo ritorno alla normalità. Proprio per quanto riguarda l’attività giovanile, già nella prossima primavera qualche piccola atleta dovrebbe affacciarsi alle prime attività federali, segno che il lavoro svolto dallo staff universitario sta producendo risultati concreti e più che soddisfacenti.
E infine la struttura: i tre campi indoor della Cittadella Universitaria già in questi mesi hanno interessato la Federtennis per alcune manifestazioni federali e da inizio del 2022 sono in programma altri appuntamenti federali, con l’obiettivo di intensificarsi ulteriormente con gli interventi programmati di restyling dei campi, un lavoro che renderà la struttura moderna e funzionale per diverse attività, anche di respiro internazionale.
Una macchina organizzativa, quella del settore tennis della SSD UniMe, che ha già scaldato i motori e che è pronta a prendere un grande slancio, rispettando una programmazione di ampio respiro e di grande prospettiva.
